It as been along and cold winter and we still have a way to go. The good part is that we have not had as much snow, at least not yet, as we did last winter and we get way less snow here then we did in south Dakota.
We have not seen our yard since mid October and it could be late April or early May before it appears. At least our trusty Mr. Scarecrow is keeping a watch on things for us.
We first saw this house in the summer and all the photos on the realtors site were spring and summer photos, sopI gave no thought to the pitch of the roof. That is until it snowed lasted winter and then thought “wow they should have had a steeper pitch to this roof”. I guess that is why someone invented the Roof Rake. At least we have a small house so there is only around 1100 square feet of roof to rake.
We spend a fair amount of time clearing snow around here, but we do have a plow service for the driveway and parking area between the house and the barn.
Of course, as our kids have said more than once…”It’s not like you did not know you would have snow in Northern Vermont”. I might add that they said the same when we moved to South Dakota.
